THE PREMIER.
(By Telegraph—Press Association.] Wellington, last night.
There was some doubt to-day as to whether the Premier would be present at the Eoyal landing at Auckland, but ho has so arranged affairs as to be able to leave by the Tutanekai some time about midnight to-night. EAETHQUAKE. A shock of earthquake was felt here at 11.22 to-day. It seemed to be rather severe, but the seisometer at the museum recorded but little motion. The direction was south to south-east. IMMIGRATION.
The immigration returns for April show that during the month one Chinaman arrived in the colony, and fiftoen took their departure.
SCARCITY OF COAL.
There is a great shortage of West Coast coal in the city at present. Dealers are unable to meet tho demands, and householders have had to fall back on tho Newcastle article.
