Mr Lamb, Government Auditor, is at present in Gisborne-on his periodical tour of the East Coast. His Honor Mr Justice Conolly will remain in Gisborne until Wednesday next. Mr Holdsworth, who was recently on the staff of the S.S. Company, at Gisborne, has gone to the Melbourne office as assistant working clerk. Mr J. P. Clark, of Auckland, is expected to be present at the installation ceremony of Lodge Turanganui, to be held on Monday evening. The Rsv. B. F. Rothweli will conduct three services at the Wesleyan Church tomorrow. At a meeting of the Women’s Christian Temperance Union yesterday, Mrs Itothwell, wife of the Rev. B. F. Rothweli, was elected a Vice-President. It was decided to make a special effort to clear off the remaining debt on the Coffee Rooms. Mr and Mrs C. J. Parker, Misses Parker (3), and Mr Frank Parker, of Emerald Hills, Te Arai, leave by the Mararoa fhis morning for Sydney and Melbourne. They will be away from Gisborne for about two months. His Honor Judge Batham is making good progress with the business of the Native Land Court at Awanui, and a great number of the eases have already been disposed of. It Is probable that the Court, will be adjourned at an early-date owing to the fact that most of the natives present are anxious to go to Rotorua. Mr R. Barwick, who recently disposed of his property in the Motu to Mr Me Saveliy, intends in the course of the next fortnight to leave for England. Some time back he sustained an injury to I his back, and on that account has been 1 compelled to dispose of his property, being i unable to stand the rough life of the back woods.
