Inspector Gillies, Sergeant Stagpoole, and eight constables went to AVaihi, north of Waiter,i, early this morning in connection with Native troubles. It appears that a surveyor the other day was ejected from some land, and his pegs pulled up. Mr Fisher, Native agent here, went earlier than tho police. No serious trouble is feared. Later. The trouble with a half-caste woman over surveying Native land for sub-divi-sion at Wnihi, ended as soon as tho police appeared on the scone. The woman, Airs Marsh, who destroyed the survey pegs, will bo brought before the court.
