CHAMPIONSHIP MEETING. By Telegraph.—Press Association. Christchurch, last night. At a meeting of tho New Zealand Amateur Athletic Association to-night, A. J. Jones (Timaru), G. A. Bush (Wellington), and J. E. Loydcn were reinstated as amateurs. With regard to tho three competitors who tied for tho high jump at the championship meeting, it was decided to give each man a medal two-tliirds silver and ono-third gold. The Secretary was instructed to ascertain from the Auckland Club whether it had any intention of applying to have the next championship meeting decided in its district, and if so, what date would bo suitable. Tho Secretary was also directed to inform the Auckland Club that the Australasian Championship Meeting would probably bo held in the same-place as the New Zealand meeting. It was reported that tho championship meeting had resulted in a deficit of £45 3s 9d. The receipts were .£94 19s 4d, and the expenditure £l4O os Id. The Association now has a credit balance of £l7. FOOTBALL. Tho Canterbury Rugby Union, at its annual meeting, adopted a scheme of insuring footballers against accident by means of a fund subscribed by tho affiliated clubs, a disabled footballer to receive one pound per week while unable to follow his occupation.
