HOLMES-GETS A WARNING FROM NAPIER PARK STEWARDS. By Telegraph—Press Association. Napier, last night. An adjourned meeting of the stewards of the Napier Park Racing Club was held this afternoon, when the riding of Materoa’s jockey, Holmes, in tho race for the Napior Cup, was further enquired into. Some evidence not available at tho preliminary enquiry held after the race was tendored, and, after a careful investigation, the stewards decided, wlnlo viewing Holmes’ conduct with some suspicion, the evidence hardly warranted his disqualification, but they decided to warn him that in future his conduct on their racecource would be closely watched.
