BAIN’S VARIETY COMPANY.
Another, large house greeted the Bain Variety Company at the Theatre Royal last evening, and the programme, as on the opening night, was received with great favor by the audience. Mr Bain was particularly happy in his comic numbers, all of which were encored. His singing of “If I hadn’t been a Sunday - school teacher ” fairly convulsed the audience with laughter, whilst he was no less sudcsssfulin ‘’l qm getting there by degrees” and “ Biscuits in ibsEsd." His singing of tho sentimental song, “Dada’s Baby Boy,” was very much admired, and an encore was demanded. Blaster Claude Sullivan made a great kit -in his comic pieces, and particularly in his song “ I’m a Plumber,” which took splendidly, and Bliss Alma Bain greatly pleased the audience with her singing. The Company appear at the Theatre Royal this evening, and close their Gisborne season to-morrow night. A matinee performance will be held to-morrow afternoon.
