Roebuck Road Bridge May Be Open At End Of Week

The Roebuck Road bridge, which has been closed for three and a half weeks as a result of portion of the abutment collapsing in the recent flood, is expected to be open within a day or two. Repairs to the bridge, the abutment of which is being rebuilt, have been delayed by bad weather, faulty gear and the removal of obstacles, the borough engineer. Mr G. M. Beaumont, reported to the Gisborne Borough Council last night. It is understood that as soon as the work is completed repairs to the William Pettie bridge will be commenced.
