“Bunst the Bold” by John Newton Chance (Oxford University Press), has as its main characters Audacious Cotterrell. an elderly eccentric whose clothes and car belong to a by-gone age. and Bunst a precocious boy with an amazing vocabulary and an insatiable appetite who between them solve the mystery of a haunted house and save an innocent man from prison. Garry McGowan, the ace reporter with a habit of getting himself embroiled in all sorts of dangerous situations. is the creation of Allan Aldous and the hero of his books tor boys. They are published by the Oxford University Press. “McGowan Goes Firiiing” is a tale of the big game fishing at Miami; “McGowan Goes to Henley” tells of the ace reporter at the boat race and of the way in which he foiled several Nazi agents; “McGowan Goes Racing” tells of motor racing in Australia and of struggles to establish a new invention in racing cars. These are capital books for boys.
