STORE LAMBS HARDEN AT MORRINSVILLE
A large yarding of store lambs was in keener demand at the Morrinsville stock sale on Friday and prices showed a slight rise on those offering last week. There was a good entry of fat. cows and heifers and values for animals of the kind wore slightly easier. A full yarding of boner cows and bulls sold to a steady demand with values a little firmer than at other recent sales. Prices:—
Sheep.—Fat woolly hoggets, 53s to 595; small woolly hoggets, 42s 6d to 455: fat shorn hoggets, 38s to 425; fat lambs small, 30s; good b.f. store lambs, 24s to 25s 9d; medium b.f. store lambs, 22. s to 235; small b.f. store lambs, 19s to 21s; good w.f. store lambs, 22s 6d to 245; medium, 20s to 21s; small, 17s to 19s. Cattle. —Fat P.A. heifers, £ls ss; light mixed-coloured fat steers, £ls 10s; fat cows. £9 10s to £lO 14s; lighter fat cows and heifers, £8 10s to £9; boner cows, £6 5s to £8: store Jersey cows, £4 16s to £6; bulls, £6 10s to £l3 15s; two-year Hereford heifers, £10; Jersey heifer calves, £4 10s.
