MELBOURNE, Aug. 13. Tlie Australian Antarctic expedition nil Macquarie Island reports (lie Vscovcry of a woman's belongings in a small cave. They are thought to have belonged to the wife of the captain of the ill-fated Now Zealand schooner Eagle, which \yas wrecked in the ISGO’s. The captain, his wife and a crew of eight spent two terrible years on ihe island, and the woman died the day on which the rescue party ai rived. Rough carpets of tussocky grass, smoked walls, remains of fires, and the bones of animals and birds were found in the cave. Another cave with a woman’s belongings is believed to be where she and her husband lived.
