EASEMENT IN WORLD TENSION

(11 a.m.) STOCKHOLM, Aug. 11. A period of continued relaxation in world tension was forecast by the Sec-retary-General of the United Nations, Mr. Trygve Lie, in a speech tonight, says the Associated Press. He said: “It is my impression that responsible statesmen all over the world are firmly resolved to prevent a new war and that they will go a very long way to preserve peace. I think the relaxation of international tension, which has been observed during the last few months, will continue.”
