BAND RAISING FUNDS FOR NEW INSTRUMENTS

So that the Gisborne Home Guard Band may purchase a new set of instruments to replace the existing set which has almost outlived its usefulness an art and curio exhibition for the raising of funds will be held in the Army Hall, Gisborne, from August 29 to September 3. Included in the exhibition will be war souvenirs, tapestry, period fashions, Maori arts and crafts and other > articles of interest. Circulars already have been distributed , to the likely sources of such articles and an all-out effort is being made by the executive of the band to collect as many interesting curios considered suitable for the exhibition.- v All articles will be insured and protective measures taken to ensure that each is not damaged in any way.
