Russians Disgusted At U.S. Use Of Nude Women’s Pictures

MOSCOW, May 8,

Russian delegates to the world peace conference in New York in April were disgusted by the number of nude and semi-nude women pictured in American advertisements, according ito a film producer delegate, Mr. Sergei Gerasimov.

“A naked woman’s body, like the national trade mark, has become the symbol of American commerce,” Mr. Gerasimov wrote in the Literary Gazette.

"Women, naked and semi-naked, getting dressed and undressed, fill not only films but pages of magazines and newspapers, in advertisements for food, clothing, automobiles, hotels, refrigerators and chewing-gum. "The indecency of American advertising is simply indescribable.”
