MRS. BEN DUDFIELD

OBITUARY

A well-known and highly respected resident of Gisborne for a number of years, Mrs. Margaret Dudfield, passed away in Gisborne yesterday afternoon. Her health had been failing for the post three months. Born in Ireland, Mrs. Dudfield came as an infant with her parents to New Zealand and they settled in Auckland. She was the youngest daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. R. D. Reid, wellknown wood and coal merchants of Auckland. She came to Gisborne 45 years ago and married Mr. Ben Dudfield. Mrs. Dudfield was of a quiet disposition and well known among the older residents foi her kindly deeds. She was a great home-lover. . To mourn their loss there remain her husband and two sons, Mr. Harry Dudfield, Tokomaru Bay. and Mr. R. D. Dudfield. Gisborne. There is also one grand-child, one brother, Mr. R. D. Reid, Auckland, and a sister. Mrs. L. Woods, Auckland. . , , Following a service in Cochrane s chapel, Williams street, at 2.30 .p.m. on Saturday, the funeral will leave for the Taruheru cemetery.
