Olympic Athlete Sentenced For Theft

(11 a.m.) PARIS, April 6. Jean. Claude Arifon, the French. Olympic hurdler who last year established a European record of 51.6 sec. for the 400 metres hurdles, was sentenced to six months’ imprisonment and fined £6 for stealing wallets from the Paris Stadium dressing-room. The 'sentence was suspended after Arifon promised to enlist in the French Army airborne unit in Morocco.
