Radio-Active Waste To Be Dumped In Ocean
(10 am.) LONDON, April 5. The British Ministry of Supply announced that small quantities of slightly radio-active waste material from atomic energy research establishments will be dumped in the Atlantic Ocean this spring and summer. A naval vessel'will dump the material several hundred miles south-west of the British Isles where the Atlantic is over 2000 fathoms deep. The total radio-activity in the operations will be much too small to harm fish or human life. The first consignment left port today.
