FIBROUS PLASTER FACTORY GUTTED

(P.A.) CHRISTCHURCH, April 4. Fire which broke out suddenly and spread with unusual rapidity last night gutted the fibrous plaster board factory of N. Stewart Ltd-, Shirley, and caused damage estimated at well over £IOOO. The fire was burning fiercely throughout the entire building when units from the fire brigades arrived, but was brought under control early this morning. The factory, a large single-storey wood and iron building, was damaged extensively, the roof collapsing and the interior being burned out. The building was insured.
