GROUNDS FOR CROQUET COURTS

A recommendation from the reserves committee that an area of Barry Park be made available to women croquet players for the laying out of new courts was adopted at last night’s meeting ot the Gisborne Borough Council, on con dition that the people interested form themselves into a club and accept responsibility for laying-out and maintaining the courts. The committee suggested that the council should level off the area with a grader, as an initial contribution to the preparation of the new courts, but that no other expense to the ratepayers should be incurred.
