CZECHS REPUDIATE FORCED CONFESSIONS

(11 a.m.) PRAGUE, Feb. 10. Lubomir Panek, a 24-year-old Czechoslovakian student, who is on trial with 28 others on charges of espionage for a Western Power, repudiated in court a confession he had signed while under police interrogation. He said he had been so severely beaten that he had returned to his cell with his head covered in blood.

Several other defendants said they also repudiated statements which they claimed they made under duress.
