Formosans Oppose Chiang’s Regime Moving To Taiwan
(10 a.m.) HONG KONG. Dec. 10. Protesting against the possibility of the Nanking Government moving to Taiwan, turning the island into a civil war base, 10 Formosan independence organisations exiled in Hong Kong today issued a declaration stating: “Formosans have reached the limit of endurance and will stand to our feet to emancipate ourselves and choose our own destiny according to our own will in case the Chinese National, Government takes refuge in Formosa.” Claiming to speak on behalf of 6,500,000 people, the declaration calls upon the Allied Powers having the right to dispose of former Japanese territories to allow Formosans to decide their own fate through a plebiscite.
