N.Z. CHESS CHAMPION’S DILEMMA

(10 a.m.) LONDON, Aug. 27. The New Zealand chess champion, Mr. Robert Wade, complained on arrival at Liverpool that on the long voyage in the IVairangi from New Zealand everyone wanted to play him draughts. Mr. Wade, who has come to watch the British championships and play in the tournament and exhibition matches in Holland, said: “You need a different mind for draughts. 1 can hold my own but chess is my game. I had to be content on the voyage with teaching youngsters.”
