FAMILY UNITED AFTER 43 YEARS
Mrs. J. Sutton, Gisborne, and her sister, Mrs. I. Sharpe, Melbourne, have just returned to Gisborne after visiting Auckland for a memorable family reunion when seven brothers and sisters met for the first time in 43 years. This long-anticipated meeting was celebrated by a reunion dinner at the home of Mrs. H. Moir, Ponsonby, and in addition to the hostess and Mesdames Sharpe and Sutton, uiere were present Mrs. M. Brown, Te Teko, Mrs. Eva Brunton, Hastings, Mr. Grove Vowless, Onehunga, and Mr. Syd Vowiess, Rotorua.
Their parents, the late Mr. and Mrs. Grove Vowless, formerly lived in Gisborne.
The family is particularly proud of its association with the Waikato, their grandmother, Mrs. Teressa Vowless, claiming to be the first white woman to set foot on the soil of that district about 1859 when she arrived from Australia.
Mrs. Sharpe will be 'n Gisborne as the guest of Mrs. Sutton for some time before returning (o Melbourne.
