FUTURE MARKETING OF APPLES AND PEARS

(P.A.) HASTINGS, June 15. The joint committee set up by the Minister of Marketing. Mr. E. L. Cullen, last year to prepare a long-term ulan for marketing apples' and pears has completed its deliberations and its recommendations for the future marketing of the pip fruit crop have been placed before the Government for its consideration. The contents of the joint committee’s report are still confidential, but it is hoped that the Cabinet will make its decisions known in time for them to be considered at the provincial conferences of the New Zealand Fruitgrowers’ Association next month and at the Dominion conference in Wellington in August. The findings of the cost committee set up to ascertain the costs of production of apples and pears are known to have had an important bearing on the deliberations aimed at producing an equitable plan.
