SICKNESS CAUSES BIG PRODUCTION LOSS
(9 a.m.) LONDON, June 13. Britain at present loses 40,000,000 working weeks annually from sickness and absenteeism, said the Chancellor of the Exchequer, Sir Stafford Cripps, opening the research department at the ICoffey I’ark rehabilitation centre, Horsham. This meant that the average man lost 10 days on an average and a woman 15 days annually from sickness, or three per cent and live per cent respectively of working time.
