ALLEGED SOVIET CONQUEST PLANS

(11 a.m.)

LONDON, June 13,

A memorandum of the International Committee for the Study of European questions warns that it is probable during the coming months that Russia will attempt to take advantage of her military position to bring heavy pressure to bear on other Powers to gain the maximum political advantages before the general staffs of the five western Powers co-ordinate their plans of defence and before American rearmament plans have been carried very lar. The Governments and general staffs of the western nations, the memorandum states, have been receiving reports concerning the existence of Soviet plans to invade France, Italy and Scandinavia. “Reports from Central Europe confirm that more than 500,000 Soviet troops are concentrated along the Danube and that the combined armies of Russia and her satellites number 2,000,000.”
