MISSIONER KILLED NEAR HOPUHOPU

fP.A.) HAMILTON, June 11. As the result of an accident between a cyclist and a milk lorry just north of Hopuhopo mi'itary camp, near Taupiri, early this morning a man was killed and a doctor who was summoned ran off the road and received a severe shaking. The victim was Mr. Charles Frederick Jones, aged about 55, married, _ with three children, a Presbyterian missioner of Ngaruawahia. The accident occurred at 6.20 a.m. end there were patches of fog in the vicinity at the time. Dr. R. Thorburn, Ngaruawahia, was summoned, but as his car was out of order he borrowed a truck. On the way the truck ran off the road into the ditch and Dr. Thorburn was fortunate to escape with a severe shaking.
