ACTION NECESSARY
COMBAT CONFUSION CHARTER ORGANISATION Action on three levels—the spiritual, the political and the economic—all actions being designed to advance world peace by seeking the Kingdom of God was the purpose of the Charter Organisation (N.Z.), according to Mr. H. W. Baillie, administrator of the organisation, who addressed the Gisborne Rotary Club this week. The Charter Organisation, explained the speaker, worked to assemble, first, a spearhead of clergymen and ministers who knew they and not the politicians were the peacemakers; secondly, men in Parliament who realised that their function was to administer the laws of God in the Christian spirit; and, thirdly, men in industry who knew it was their function to apply the laws of God to the social and economic fabric of the nations. In order that an authoritative pattern of action could be formed a charter under the authority of His Majesty the King showing the application of Divine law to the individual, the family unit, the industrial unit, the national unit, and the international unit, was being sought. The establishment of a training college was also projected. The speaker assured his listeners that the organisers were fully aware of the magnitude of the task. However, the primary need in the world today was the mobilisation of forces for good and events had to be dominated. Hhe forces of chaos were attacking Britain and these had to be combated. The world had to be convinced that Britain was vigorous and powerfully commanding events.
The speaker was thanked by Mr. T. A. N. Corson, chairman for the day.
