SYDNEY, April 14

Mr. Justice Owen directed a jury to acquit Sydney Baden Powell Shannon, a slaughterman, aged 47, who pleaded not guilty to murdering a man and his wife 10 years ago by throwing a bomb into their bedroom His Honour said that three psychiatrists had believed Shannon was mad at the time he made the alleged confessions.
