15TH CENTURY GRAVE

DUTCHMEN’S DISCOVERY (10 a.m.) THE HAGUE, March 16. Dutch archaeologists here have discovered the grave of Thomas Basin, Bishop of Lisieux, Rouen Province, who in 1450 conducted the retrial of Joan of Arc after she had been burned at the stake for witchcraft 20 years before.

A bricked-in grave was found in the floor of a Roman basilica, believed to date back to the third century.
