Featured in the film are Virginia O’Brien, Gloria Grahame, Leon Amee, Alan Mowbray and Charles D. Brown. The picture describes the adventures of a movie-struck, country youth, played by Red Skelton, who tries to break into the Hollywood of the early nineteen hundreds. His adventures in the old-time silent movie studios are among the funniest ever seen on the screen.
