FALL INTO WATER HOLE (P.A.) NEW PLYMOUTH, March 12. A woman was found dead yesterday morning in a water hole. She was: Miss Margaret Allan Mitchell, aged 47, New Plymouth. Miss Mitchell had apparently been digging up small native trees when she slipped, lost her balance and fell 10 feet into the hole which contained 2ft. of water. The hole had a stony bed and it is presumed that she struck her head, was rendered unconscious and was drowned.
