TASMANIAN MOVE CAUCUS SUMMONED COSGRAVE MAY RESIGN (10 a.m.) HOBART. Dec. 13. A section of the Tasmanian Parliamentary Labour Party has forced Cabinet to ask caucus to elect a new Premier. The Cabinet has agreed to call a soecial caucus meeting on Monday to choose a new leader. The Ministers were sworn to secrecy at a Cabinet meeting called to discuss Mr. R. Cosgrove’s position. The Premier is expected to tell the caucus on Monday that he will tender his Ministry’s resignation next Tuesday. The report of Mr. Justice Reed who, as Royal Commissioner, inquired into allegations that Mr. Cosgrove had accepted £5400 from four road transport operators, has been submitted to the Governor. The commission did not reach a conclusion. Before the Premier.was called to give evidence the inquiry was terminated and it was announced that Mr. Cosgrove would be indicted.
