170 GERMANS SE?ITENCED CRIMES AGAINST RUSSIANS BERLIN, Aug. 8. Colonel Kotlar. the cnief Russian war crimes investigator in Berlin, said that 170 Germans who had been found guilty cf war crimes fagainst Russians and Poles had been sentenced in the past three weeks to terms ranging from 10 to 25 years. All had pleaded guilty. Col. Kotlar disclosed that one German police reserve battalion participated in the shooting of 97.000 Russian citizens in wartime, including mothers with babies, children, aged and invalid people The figures he gave were part b ( the result of investigations which the Russians had conducted into German executions in Russia during the war.
