N.I. TITLE CONTESTS GISBORNE SIDES CHOSEN < The selectors of the Gisborne Indoor Basketball Association have announced the A teams to represent Gisborne in the North Island championships to be held in Gisborne on September 20. Twenty-two outside teams will be competing, 11 women’s and 11 men’s sides respectively. The Gisborne teams are: Women’s A Reps—Forwards: Misses J. Stupples, L. Wilkinson, J. Carnegie (vice-captain), F. MacDonald, E. Bayly. Guards: Misses P. Lloyd (captain), C. McCallum, N. Mcßae, A. Richardson, Mrs. F. Allan. . , Men’s A Reps.—L. Roderick (captain), R- Smaili (vice-captain), J. Greig, R. Taylor, S. Gillgren, V. Caulton, D. Richardson, E. Wardlc, J. Hale.
Wednesday’s Competition The holders of the women’s Challenge Cup, Power Board, are to defend the trophy in a game against Rovers tomorrow evening following the Wednesday competition games. The draw, with referees appointed, is as follows: Women’s B Grade.— B p.m., Kiwis (B) v R S.A., Mrs- Robb and Miss P. Lloyd; Petties (B) v. Y.M.C.A., Messrs. Balfour and Gillgren; 3.27. Red Star (B) v. Woolworths, Mrs. Allan and Mr. Taylor; Nurses v. Kiwis (A), MessrsStokes and Smaili: 8.55, Herald v. Red Star (A), Mrs. Robb and Mr. Gillgren. Challenge Cup Game. —8.55, Power Board v. Rovers, Messrs. Roderick and Balfour.
