REPRESENTATIVES MEET
In order to acquaint women’s organisations in Gisborne of the nature of the new Heni Materoa Home and the schemes being undertaken in raising funds for its erection, members of the Cook County Women’s Guild met presidents or representatives of all the women’s organisations in Gisborne at morning tea at the home of Mrs. A. L. Singer, Ballance street, on Friday. The representatives heard an appealing address by Mrs. H. G. Wellborne, president of the guild. Messrs. H, F. Wise and F. T. Robinson, president and secretary of the building auxiliary, were also present, Mr. Wise exhibiting a model of the new home and explaining the advantages it promised. The purpose of the meeting was primarily to encourage women’s organisations to co-operate wherever possible in assisting with the raising of funds for the new home and several representatives offered suggestions for help which their organisations had in mind.
Mrs. H. Gilmer sincerely thanked Mrs. Singer for the opportunity given the guild members, who are also on the campaign committee, of explaining their objective to the women’s organisations of the town,
