The death has occurred at Vaucluse, Sydney of Mr George Valletort Edgcumbe, heir to the earldom of Mount

'•'.dgcumbe, Plymouth, England, ana formerly a prominent Auckland busi. n.ess man and,yachtsman, aged 78 years. His eldest son. Mr Piers Edgcumbe, 3f Auckland, is at present in England to investigate the family interests and the title which he is expected to inherit. Mr George Edgcumbe claimed succession to the title through his descent irom the second Earl when the former heir, Lieutenant Piers Richard Edgcumbe, only son of the present sixth Earl was killed in action while serving with the Royal Lancers in Belgium in 1940.
