KNOX CHURCH

GUILD RE-FORMED A meeting of the newly-formed Knox Church Ladies] Guild was held in the church on April 23. There were nearly 40 women present and all were very enthusiastic. The meeting took the form of a social afternoon and election of officers, and was opened with devotions led by the minister, the Rev. H. Dyson, who also extended a welcome to those present and spoke of the wonderful contributions made by the women of the congregation to the work of the church. Items were given by Mesdames Knox, Redstone and Morton, and the Rev. H. Dyson, and Miss Aitken was the accompanist. It was resolved to send overseas parcels to the minister of the church at Aberdeen, from which parish one of the members came recently. The guild’s first contribution to the church will be new electric-light fittings. The competition was for the three best dalhias, and awards were made as follows. —Mrs. Currice, 1; Mesdames Macßae and Hutchinson, equal, 2. Good business was transacted at the sales table. Mrs. Hay, president of St. David's Ladies’ Guild, addressed the meeting and extended all good wishes to the new guild. Afternoon tea was served and an exceedingly pleasant meeting was closed with the singing of the Doxology and the Benediction. The guild meets on the fourth Wednesday every month, and a hearty invitation was ofCered to all who are interested. The election of officers resulted in Mrs. Dyson being elected president and Mrs. M. M. Graham, secretary.
