CANADIAN WELCOME

PACIFIC AIR SERVICE GO a.m.) VANCOUVER. April 30. The newspaper, Vancouver Daily Province, commenting editorially on the inauguration of the Auckland-Van-couver air service, says: “Canada is as gratified as New Zealand that the prewar dream of a regular trans-Pacific air service has come true and extends the wannest welcome to the new _ High Commissioner, Mr. James Thorn, in the hope and confidence that both countries will benefit materially and in personal friendship. The service has brought two members of the British family together and from that the whole Commonwealth will benefit.” All the Vancouver press prominently display letters of greetings from Mr. E. V. Durnbleton, managing editor of the Auckland Star, and Mr. James Rouda, New Zealand Public Relations Officer.
