GUARD OF HONOUR
As a compliment to the bride, who has been a member of the Gisborne Nursing Division for several years, members of the St. John Ambulance Brigade formed a guard of honour outside St. Andrew’s Presbyterian Church last Saturday after the marriage of Rosalind Beatrix (Trixie), daughter of Mr. and Mrs. J. H. Beaufoy, Kahutia street, to Henry James, son of Mr. and Mrs. W. J. Burborough, Adair road, Gisborne. The Rev. J. K. Fairbairn conducted the ceremony, and Mr. I. Moore was at the organ. Pale blue hydrangeas, white Michaelmas daisies, mixed chrysanthemums and fern had been attractively arranged in the church prior to the ceremony. Wearing an off-white satin wedding gown cut on fitting lines, the bride was escorted to the altar by her father. The full bodice of her frock was longwaisted and the waistline was an unusual scalloped one. A heart-shaped neckline and long tight-fitting sleeves pointed traditionally over the hands, were other features of her wedding gown, which fell out into a long train at the back. Held in place with a coronet of orange blossom was her beautiful hand-embroidered net veil which had been loaned by Mrs. F. J. Burborough. Lower Hutt. The bride’s only ornament was a string of pearls, and she carried cream roses and chrysanthemums, intermingled with gypsophila and maidenhair fern. The bride’s cousin, Miss Lorraine Beaufoy, chief, and her sister, Miss Cushla Beaufoy, were bridesmaids and wore embossed crepe-dc-chine frocks in a shell-pink shade with slim-fitting bodices and very full gathered skirts and short sleeves. They each wore gold lockets and halos of pale pink chrysanthemums, carrying pastel shaded chrysanthemums and roses with maidenhair fern. The bridegroom was attended by Mr. L. G. Sefton, best man. and Mr. F. W. Burborough, groomsman. As they left the church the bride was presented with a silver horseshoe by little Fay Shelton. The reception was held at Low Brothers’ reception rooms, where Mrs. Beaufoy. in a light navy woollen georgette frock, with a carnation corsage, matching coat, hat and accessories, welcomed the guests. She w'as assisted by the bridegroom’s mother, who had chosen a braided frock of black crepe trimmed with white, a black coat and hat with a white osprey, and black and white accessories. She wore a shoulder spray of roses and carnations. The bride’s sister, Mrs. L. G. Richardson. Rakauroa, w T as in rust woollen georgette; Mrs. R. C. Beaufoy, the bride’s aunt, had chosen an oyster frock with navy coat and accessories, and the bridegroom’s aunt. Mrs. .L. H. Burborough. wore a. black model frock with bead embroidery on it. _ Following the reception, the bride and bridegroom left on their honeymoon. the bride travelling in a cornflower blue crepe frock, a light coat with a navy hat and accessories. They plan to make their home in Gisborne.
