When winning the President’s Handicap at the Bay of Plenty meeting, the four-year-old Connie’s Birthday was enjoying his first win of the season and the second of his career. He is by the New Zealand-bred Silver Stick, who is doing stud duty this breeding season in the Gisborne district and who, with limited opportunities, is getting winners, from Auburn Lu by King Lu, tracing back to the old Yatterina tap root.
