NAZI ROCKET WEAPONS AMERICAN EXPERIMENTS GUIDED MISSILES (11 a.m.) WASHINGTON, April 22. The German type of V 1 and V 2 rockets are now obsolete weapons in the opinion of the United States Army Air Forces which, after a long scries of experiments with V l's and V 2’s announced it had decided to concentrate on new supersonic guided missiics. The statement added that the only practical use for V l's and V 2's in the light of modern scientific advancements is as research models in developing new long-range supersonic guided missiles and in search for defence against guided missiles.
