N.W. FRONTIER CLASHES (11 a.m.) PESHAWAR. April 23. Eight persons were killed and 15 wounded by riflefire' when armed raiders and police clashed in a village near Dera Ismail Khan. The raiders attacked the police who were escorting evacuees from the village. Rioters burned down several houses in Kulachi, north-west of Dera Ismail Khan. It is officially reported tHat 101 persons were killed and 25 wounded in disturbances in this area. A Bombay message states that a special court created to try riot cases sentenced three persons to death and five more to transportation for life, for participation in communal disturbances.
