Court Busy
Probably the largest number of traffic cases heard in the Gisborne Magistrate’s Court for some time were conducted yesterday, when both the police, (he borough traffic inspector, and a Transport Department traffic inspector, prosecuted motorists, motor-cyclists and cyclists. Twenty-four cyclists came before Mr. E. L. Walton, S.M., the majority of them being charged with riding bicycles after dark without having a light. Prosecutions were also brought against 13 motorists, one of these being dismissed. Three cases of persons allowing stock to graze without attention on the roadside were brought by the traffic inspector, Mr. T. G. Nowell. The remand of a man who was charged with failing to report to the probation officer also was dealt with by the magistrate.
