J FORCE DRAFT
16 MEN FOR CAMP DEPARTURE NEXT WEEK Another draft of both Maori and European recruits for the replacement section shortly to be sent to Japan to relieve the members of the Second N.Z.E.F., who have been serving there for a year, will leave Gisborne next Wednesday. There will be seven Europeans and nine Maoris in the draft, which will leave the Army Hall by bus at 6.30 a.m. en route to Papakura. Those in the draft will be:— Europeans.—Robert Leslie Fisher, Motu; John Charles Lewis, Motu; Kenpeth David Harker, Otoko; Donald Cunningham Nisbett, Motu; Robert Leslie Stephenson, Clifford street, Gisborne; Ralton Bryce Wood, Clifford street, Gisborne; Arthur Burnard Smith, Matthew road, Gisborne. Maoris.—Thomas Henry Higgoson, Ruatoria; Robert Mason. Ruatoria; James Scott, Ruatoria; Sydney Smiler, Patutahi; Koha. Taare, Tikitiki; Darkie Temepara, Tolaga Bay; James Tuapawa, Te Karaka; Inia Wawatai, Tikitiki; Graham Whitehead; Mary street, Gisborne.
