AMERICAN AIRLINES 100 PER CENT THE GOAL NEW YORK. April 22, The bulletin of the International Air Transport Association says returns from GO member airlines in all parts of tile world show that they (lew a total of 8,346'.000 00C passenger miles in 1046 will, only 33 deaths and 265 other casualties, or 28.314,000 miles per passenger fatality. Fortv-two of the airlines, or over two-thirds, had had no fatal accidems during the year, while several had unblemished records for periods ranging from 6 to 17 years. The 42 lines provided about one-half of the world's air transport. The bulletin adds that, while this record is satisfactory, it is not good enough. The goal of all airlines is 100 per cent safety. Anything less is an unsati cf aoiorv compromise.'
