TRANSPORT IN N.Z.

VALUE OF ORGANISATION CP.AD AUCKLAND, March 26. With the annual transport bill to the people of New Zealand at about £15,000,000 good organisation by the transport operators was essential, said the Mayor, Mr. J. A. C. Allum, in officially welcoming the delegates to the annual conference of the New Zealand Carriers’ Federation. Without tlie carriers the wheels of industry could not turn, said Mr. Allum, in emphasising the value of the transport operators being organised in a corporate body. He said he was very glad that the great majority employed in the transport industry were exservicemen.

The conference was attended by delegates throughout New Zealand.
