UNO OPENS FUND

HELP FOR CHILDREN NEW YORK, Jan. 25. The United Nations Secretariat has announced that all member Governments have been asked for voluntary contributions to an international children’s emergency fund, from which it hopes to provide £112,500,000 worth of assistance to 20,000,000 children and nursing mothers in war-torn countries this year. In addition, all Governments have been asked to provide the domestic machinery for campaigns to collect private contributions. The fund was established by a resolution of the General Assembly in December.
