“GISBORNE-ON-SEA”

FINE PRODUCTION

30,000 CLUB EFFORT

ADVERTISING MEDIUM

Designed bv the publication committee of the Gisborne Thirty-Thousand Club as a means of advertising and popularising Gisborne throughout the Dominion to potential visitors and residents, "Gisborne-on Sea,’’ will receive unstinted approval. It can rightly be claimed as an outstanding booklet of its hature and compares favourably with any brochures of a similar type from other towns of the Dominion. It is, in fact, more ambitious and more extensive in its coverage. There are 44 pages in the booklet, with excellent views covering the whole of the district’s attractions and pursuits, contained in an artisticallydesigned cover, and supplemented by a fun map with vital information to prospective holiday-makers. It should speedily achieve its objects of bringing tourists to Gisborne from many places. Many will find the most interesting part of the booklet is covered in the historical survey of two pages. The centre page gives a full spread to a magnificent aerial view of the whole town area, covering over 3 square miles and every detail is clearly discernible. There are many charming views of beaches and the environs and there are informative statistics. The coloured cover designs and fun map are the work of Mr. T. G. Johns and everyone will agree that they are splendidly executed. The photographs used have been supplied by Messrs. Auton Low, Gordon, the Tourist and Air Departments. ' The historical record was prepared from data supplied by Mr. J. A. Mackay, who is preparing the Centennial Booklet of Gisborne’s history. The publication committee of the Gisborne Thirty-Thousand Club responsible for the compilation and production consists of Messrs. P. W. Bushnell, chairman, E. H. Marriner, H. Gilmer, J Peach, T. G. Johns, G. Crawshaw, and the secretary. Mr. B. S. Bree, Copies of the booklet will be on sale this week and there is no doubt that a great number will be sent as Christmas gifts to friends in other districts.
