TRAFFIC CONTROL

CO-OPERATION NEEDED OBSERVATION OF CODE A report on traffic control, both vehicular and pedestrian, is to be submitted bv the traffic inspector, Mr. T. S. Nowell, to the next meeting of the Gisborne Borough Council, with the possibility of the council taking steps to tighten control. This report was called for at last night’s meeting when the council was considering the need for more cooperation from the public in observing the traffic code. “The traffic inspector has to watch about 3000 motorists and does a very good job. He is trying to educate the public, who could help a lot if they would be more careful, stated the Mayor, Mr. N. H. Bull. A common and annoying practice was that of motorists parking about four or five feet apart, Mr. H. F. Wise declared. If motorists used a little more judgment and parked close together more cars would be able to be parked in the main streets.
