Preparations are being made for a national welcome to the Maori Battalion, which is expected to arrive at Wellington between January . 26 and 28. Tribal welcomes will be given afterwards in various districts. The plans provide for a short ceremonial parade through the city, followed by a welcome by the acting Prime Minister and a Maori welcome and feast in the large wharf sheds There will be a hui on the East Coast at the end of January under the direction of Sir Apirana Ngata, and the Ngapuhi have invited the Minister of Defence, the Hon.
